This all took place Saturday night. So I am laying in bed, relaxing when Chris arrives back from his 1st snow ride with Mark. Then he works on his bike and creates all sorts of banging. Next thing I know Chris comes to me and asks if I heard any banging at the front door. Well no, then he informs me as we are both at the front windows that some one has abandoned their 2002 Saturn SL1 (I know the make/model, I had one) So Chris goes out to investigate and I get my shoes and his baseball bat and I stand at the front door. He comes back, and informs me that the car is locked but the hood is still some what warm. So to sum it up, someone just abandoned their car in Chris' drive way. So with Chris' permission I call the non emergency police and tell them the story. It is their procedure to send an officer out. As we are waiting for the officer, the car's owner shows up not bothering to come to the door or anything. Where was he? Why did he ditch his car in Chris' driveway? It would appear as though he went sledding. To make matters worse, once he gets into the car (the sled in back) he leaves and picks up 3 more people down the street, turns around and drives past Chris' home again and is gone into the night. Now is that not the weirdest/rude story you have heard in a while? Who just abandons their car in a strangers drive and does nothing. I prefer to give the benefit of the doubt, but after this occurrence, it really makes me think twice. I was telling Chris, I didn't want someones car to be towed if they are in trouble. It had us both scared out of our minds. You don't know. Is the car stolen? Person hurt/in trouble? Do they actually have car trouble?
Plain rudeness is what it is.
