Bye Bye Birdie

I am heading home to put the finishing touches on the party for the August Bday celebration we are having today. As I am merging from Hwy 44 to 270 there is this bird on the hwy and assessing the situation I either had to hit the bird, hoping it would get out of my way or get rear ended, of course I opted for the bird. Hoping it would simply fly out of my way, however it didn't. It went head first into my drivers side outside mirror. I now have bird guts splatter all over my mirror. Right after it happened, some of the birds feathers flew directly into my site of vision and I was shooing them away so I could actually merge. I would say 1 bird/animal in 15 yrs of driving, that is a pretty good record.
