Thursday Was Not My Day

Ok it is more like Thursday was not my night. I went about my daily happenings including picking up dinner. Knowing I had to make a stop Friday morning I opted to get gas Thursday evening instead. That was my mistake. Well actually it all turned out well in the long run. So I get my 6 gal of gas ($21.00)($3.43 87 octane) and I went to get into my car to take the hot dinner to Chris when all of a sudden, my car doesn't start. Yep. Completely dead. No lights on the dash nothing. Can't put my windows up or down. Can't even lock/unlock my car. Thank goodness when I get gas I leave my car unlocked. I can just imagine! So being a AAA member I call them. They were to be there no later then 7:50 however the so called tech didn't show until 8:25. The tech showed up in an unmarked beat up pick up (his appearance was not any better then the appearance of his truck) and when he talked to me he talked to my chest. That ticked me off in addition he claimed he couldn't find the filling station. Sure, yeah ok. You can't miss it if you are looking of it. Then he tells us that it isn't the battery (standing 10-12 ft from my car) and Chris & I insist that it is. (By this time Chris came out a second time and gave my car a jump) The tech then proceeds to tell us let it run for a half hour then turn it off and turn it on. If it doesn't turn on then it's the battery. Well Dah! Ok I ask you, was the creepy tech about to hang around for a half hour, heck no. So we went about our business. Chris had come by one time to pick up dinner, (I insisted he at least eat) then once he was done eating he called to check on me, and still no tech so he headed just around the corner from his home and gave my car a jump. And she started right up. From there we headed to Auto Zone for the free battery check, yeap dead. I should have a 12 on the machine reading just to turn it over, I was at a high 2 low 3 at best. So in side I went and got the mid grade battery and Chris installed it (they were quite busy for 9pm) and off we were. The sales man at Auto Zone was great! Poor guy was so busy between us and the other customers but handled it great. Great customer service on the Auto Zone end.
As always, Chris came through. This just proves what a wonderful person/boyfriend Chris is. Sorry ladies, he is spoken for. Not only by me, but his handful of bicycles as well. :-)
Gosh I am so very lucky!
