Eureka Springs Fat Tire Festival - AR

On Saturday at 5:30pm we (Tom A., Chris and I) all headed to the beautiful town of Eureka Springs, AR. The drive was about 4.5 hrs. The drive there was great and uneventful. The best to have. The guys talked while I read and looked out the window. We arrive at just about 10pm to our hotel. Boy oh boy. We had no idea what lie in store for us there. We stayed at the Joy Motel. Around 3:30-3:45am (Saturday) we soon found out, why it is named the Joy Motel. There had to be a group of 10+ who I'm guessing closed out a local bar and brought their good times to the pool. Which did I mention that our room was right on the pool?!. Tom did at 4:30 open the door and stare at them. They said "are we bothering you?" Well a yeah!! After that we heard nothing until it was officially time to get up at 6am. To our surprise there was still one couple left in the pool. I need not say more, except they were the only ones in the pool, with no one else up and about outside.
It was up and a quick shower, before we headed out to do the pre registration. Then a very quick breakfast, I got mine to go. Back to the hotel to check out and off to the race.
I will have photo's and videos posted tonight. But let me tell you, with all of it's window shops, it is a very cute/rustic town. EUREKA SPRINGS, AR
The race started at 9 and they were off. I had roughly 2 hrs to kill. So I opted to window shop. And boy oh boy did they have a bunch of neat stores. Mind you I was very good, and only windowed shopped, I didn't go into a single store. After walking the stores in about 35-40 min I figured, I would head to the finish line. I was able to watch Chris & Tom come through 3x which included the finish line. From there we waited 5 hrs, yes 5 hrs in total for the official race results. Needless to say at about the 3.5-4 hr mark I was getting a little bitchy. Who wouldn't. I at that time had been awake since oh 3:30 am. And to see the un organization of these people was "killing" me. I suppose we are lucky, that we have organization when it comes to our results here.
Why did we wait 5 hrs you are wondering..........b/c Both Chris and Tom took home money. Chris came in 2nd, cash cash cash. And 3rd overall, more cash cash cash. Tom came in 1st in his class. Cash cash cash.
After all said and done, we were officially on the road back home at 5pm.
Besides the huge results mishap, speaking for myself, I had a wonderful time. Great company and a fantastic race!!!!! Oh let's not forget the lodging. LOL
