Thai Iced Coffee
Serves | 4 |
- 3 cardamom pods
- 8 oz half and half
- 8 oz heavy cream
- 3 Tbsp sugar
- ¼ tsp almond extract
- 32 oz double-strength brewed coffee
- 6 oz Jameson Irish Whiskey
| Preparation | Smash the cardamom pods until cracked. In a saucepot, combine dairy, sugar, almond extract and cardamom. Bring to a simmer, remove from heat and steep, 15 min. After steeping, remove the cardamom pods and cream mixture cool. Fill 4 highball glasses with ice. Evenly divide cream mixture between the four glasses. Add Irish whiskey to coffee and top off each glass until full.
Vietnamese Iced Coffee Martini

- 1½ oz sweetened condensed milk
- 4 oz French-press brewed coffee
- 1½ oz cognac
| Preparation | In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine all ingredients. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds and strain into a Martini glass.
Cafe de la Olla
Serves | 4 |
- ⅔ cup dark-roasted, medium-grind coffee
- 1 quart water
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 cup dark brown sugar or piloncillo
- 6 oz Patron Blanco tequila
| Preparation | In a large saucepot, combine all ingredients except tequila. Bring to a slow boil over medium heat, stirring to combine and dissolve sugar. Once brought to a boil, remove from heat and let steep, 5 minutes. Strain mixture through a fine-mesh strainer or coffee filter. Add tequila and serve warm or cold.
